Maybe a scholarship but for sure my performance would have been greatly advanced.
If you want to be good, you can never stop improving your skills as a player and I found out that you must never stop working on developing your speed and running skills as an athlete. That goes for in-season as well as off-season.
I have trained with Coach Baskett for 14 of my 15 years as a player and his program has been the determining factor for my success in the NFL. Every young athlete should be striving to develop the most important asset in sports today . . . SPEED! SPEED KILLS by using SPEED SKILLS.

Editor s Note: Many BFS readers may remember Eugene Robinson from the Atlanta Falcons. The evening before the Super Bowl Eugene got involved in something stupid. He was accused of soliciting a prostitute. Teammates, coaches and fans all exclaimed, Not Eugene Robinson. He was considered a role model. The last person to do something stupid. So why is Eugene in the BFS Journal?
In our Be An Eleven Student/Athlete Guidebook For Success, we devote a whole segment entitled Even Elevens Make Mistakee competition for day one, the Necedah girls had scored an amazing 77 points and had locked up a second consecutive state title. If you were to look at any of the girls we have, you d be amazed if I were to tell you they re powerlifters, comments Mach.
There was no rest in sight as the club headed next to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for the National High School meet. Under the BFS philosophy, coaches and athletes are working hard to improve mentally and physically. The numbers in powerlifting and sports continue to increase as students become aware of the positive value of this program. Although the bar has been set high, more and more athletes are meeting, exceeding, and loving the challenge that BFS and powerlifting provide them. oulder joints and they seem to do fine.

BFS: Seldom do your athletes perform any pressing exercises. Isn t shoulder strength important in jerking weights overhead?

Schnorf: During the time I worked with Curt and Stewart we never did any pressing. Stewart could never bench press 200 pounds, and Amy Miler has jerked 237 pounds overhead but can t do a military press with 75 pounds. Amy has one of the best jerks I ve seen, male or female, and certainly the best jerk of anyone I ve coached. I am of the belief that the jerk is a speed and technque lift, so with my athletes I emphasize speed, speed and more speed.
BFS: What effect does the starting age have on speed and starting strength?

Schnorf: The sooner you can establish the proper motor patterns in lifting the better.
